If I File Bankruptcy in Utah, Do I Have to Show Up in Person at Court?

No, you don’t have to show up in person to court or a meeting with a trustee. Before COVID, everyone had to attend a Creditors’ Meeting in person (which meant driving downtown, finding somewhere to park, sitting around in a crowded meeting room waiting, etc.). But, ever since COVID, the Court changed its procedures and now all meetings are held via Zoom or teleconference. So, you don’t need to show up anywhere. You just need to “show up” on Zoom or on the phone – it’s that simple. And, if you have never used Zoom or need a refresher course, my paralegals and I will help you and make sure you’re “up to speed.”
